Canada dominates the hockey world again. Canada won a gold medal at the Olympic tournament in Vancouver, and after the Americans it is historically the second team to do so on home ice. It was the U.S. team who faced Canada in the final game. Sidney Crosby was the one who scored the winning goal in overtime and it made the nation go crazy.

Team Canada with the maple leaf on their chest accomplished the task. They were one of the front runner and they proved everyone right when they brought the gold medal back to the cradle of hockey. Canada won a total of 14, which is an absolute record for the Olympic Winter Games.

This gold medal has more value that the 13 total medals because hockey is seen as a religion to them. Fans expect nothing but victory in the tournament.

Their win didn't come that easily, unlike the final duel during the Olympic Games in Salt Lake City in 2002, where Canada didn’t win in quite the same style.

Again, although at first it was all according to plan, the Canadian team led 2-0 and was about to win without nerve. But then in the end, America rose up and in less than half a minute before the end of the third period on power play they score the even goal.

The overtime sudden death occurred in the great drama that will be in the history of the Olympic finals forever.

In the middle of the first period of overtime, the game was led by the Canadian star Sidney Crosby.

Silver Medals went to U.S. players, even thought they did not lose even one game in regulation time. They even beat Canada 5-3 in the regular group game.
