The Future of Traditional Media

Introduction:

We are now in a time where media is grouped into two categories, traditional and new media.

Briefly describe what is a medium.

What will become of the traditional media; I believe that some media may will always be needed. There will be a convergence and balance of the two

Body:

Examples of Traditional media: Radio Television Newspapers/Magazines

Examples of New media: YouTube – the use of the internet along with inexpensive webcams allow for anyone to post videos so others can see. Podcasting – a technology where audio content is sent directly to a device such as an MP3 player. Online Shows – Watching television shows via the internet. Blogs – a website which is basically used as a journal that is available on the web for other to view. Items are displayed in reverse chronological order.

Arguments for Traditional media: Reputation for accuracy and trustworthiness Information is generally well organized and put together.

Arguments for New media: Cheap, easily accessible information.

Converging Traditional media with New media.

Conclusion:

Traditional Media morphing with New media.
